It's finally here!

Reading & Jamming's first episode in the all-new Music Education vlog series is here!

In this vlog series (that's right, vlog--how cool is that?) I use words and graphics to teach how to read music. Reading music is difficult, but it is also mentally, academically, physically, and emotionally beneficial. In my opinion, everyone should learn to read music or play an instrument at some point in their lives. The knowledge one gains from reading or playing music is helpful to not only one's musical career or hobby, but to many aspects of daily life. It is, in essence, a true life skill.

I also created this vlog series for anyone who is currently attending a school in which music classes are not offered. Music education is viewed as a nonessential aspect of curriculum in schools. The lack of musical education in school districts worldwide is a growing problem. It is scientifically proven that a musicial education benefits children and young people in both their academic and emotional lives. I know the phrase "It's science!" is used mostly as a joke these days, but this really, actually is science!

This first episode is called The Staff. It introduces all of you to the vlog series and teaches y'all about the various aspects of the music staff. I can't tell you anymore, though--no spoilers! Go watch it!

You can watch the video (later videos) both here and on Vimeo. The link to the site's Vimeo page is as follows: https://vimeo.com/122919723

I hope everyone enjoys the Music Education vlog series! I'll be posting another episode every Sunday until the series is finished, so keep an eye on the blog and Twitter!

Thanks for watching! :D
