Music and literature seemingly exist within two completely different areas of popular culture. On one hand, you have the book nerds, those who wait months for a certain book to release, spend hours in libraries, and prefer fictional worlds to the real one. On the opposite hand are the music geeks, the people who speak fluently in song lyrics, love both rock bands and Beethoven equally, and believe that a song is a momentary escape from everyday life.  

 

However, music and literature are more similar than you might think.

 

Both of them have the power to install emotions in a person they didn't know they were capable of feeling, to offer a distraction from reality, if only for a brief moment. There lies the reason I created Reading & Jamming; To make readers out of musicians and song lyric-enthusiasts out of literary buffs. By browsing through this website, I'm hoping that people will develop an equally passionate love for literature and music as I have.
