The idea for Reading & Jamming came to me after my local book club broke up, due to the sheer busyness of the members' schedules. I loved talking about books, so obviously I missed the club. My goal became to discover a way to continue the book club, but eliminate the inconvenience of meeting face-to-face. A website and blog became the obvious answer. Thus, the "reading" aspect of Reading & Jamming was created! Then, suddenly, I had an idea: Why not create a website that revolved around both of my favorite things in the world, books and music? Reading became Reading & Jamming, and the rest, as they say, is history!
One of my goals in creating this website was to demonstrate the similarities between books and music. It has been said that books are the greatest form of transportation, that they can take a reader places they've never been and, by contrast, to a place they know well. But isn't such a statement equally true for music? It is commonly known that one song can bring a thousand memories flooding back, can install emotions in a person they didn't know they were capable of feeling. But books, as it happens, can do quite the same thing! Reading & Jamming was created to make readers out of musicians and song lyric-enthusiasts out of literary buffs. So please, browse this website and develop a love for music and literature, no matter if you are a book nerd or a music geek!
